Chompagne Co. was built for dogs with good taste and the humans who love them. I’m a co-founder of Chompagne, but long before the brand existed, I was just a dog parent trying (and failing) to find treats my extremely picky Shih Tzus would actually eat.

How a Few Picky Shih Tzus Sparked an Idea

My dogs have turned down more top-rated dog treats than I can count. Too dry. Too hard for their small jaws to chew. Smells unappetizing, or there are too many ingredients that they don't like. (Who knew that a dog could turn down fish?)

At the same time, I noticed something missing in the pet space:

• Functional treats that worked but felt medicinal

• Fun treats that looked great but did nothing for a dog’s health

My Background

As a dog parent and someone with a background in law and strategy, I wondered how I could just get my poor dogs to eat. I also wanted them to enjoy a treat once in a while and also get something healthy in their routine.

As a practicing lawyer, I like to think that I never settle. Thus began a journey to test ingredients, formulas, and find ways to integrate wellness into me and my dogs' busy lives.

Every formula we make is tested by my own Shih Tzus first. If they won’t eat it, we go back to the drawing board.

It’s about care, curiosity, and choosing better when you can. I try to live by that every day when I'm creating new treat ideas.

My Shih Tzus still have opinions but when they hear a Chompagne bag open, they come running.
